Sukhwinder Singh Concert Bay Area 6 June, 2010

Friends, Comrades and Fellow Music Lovers,
I hereby declare that I will avoid going to or supporting any Sukhwinder Singh concert or event. The guy has some serious problems and does not give a shit to his fans and their expectations. He sang just 6 or 7 songs, after appearing on stage 1 hour and 30 mins late and did not apologize.

That will be all!

I totally agree! Sukhwinder Singh is a complete waste of time and I am going to be asking all who attended to sign a petition and sue the program co-ordinators Bikram and Gary for doing this show. Sukhwinder was not 1.5 hrs late but 3.25hrs late for this showing. My kids were coming to see their idol but went home feeling totally disappointed! Bad Show

I also agree. I am a touring musician myself, so I know how things can happen like flight delays, technical problems, etc, but when these things happen, you put the fans FIRST. When the event coordinators, promoters, and Sukhwinder realized they would be starting the concert late, the opening acts should have been canceled, and Sukhwinder should have went on ASAP. Sitting through hours of local talent show winners, dance acts, a parade of opening acts singing along with CDs, a ridiculous dating game with Ms. Dutta (who to her credit, agreed with the audience's pleas and tried to stop the MC's charade), and then a very abbreviated performance by Sukhwinder before asking the audience for a 5-10 minute break, only to bring on the opening acts AGAIN and much later return for one song JUST before the stage power was cut, was painful. I honestly felt like he was running down the clock, throwing artists like Sunny. Shraddha Pandit, and some really talented vocalist who sounded a lot like Sukhwinder, under the bus to be booed and hissed while Sukhwinder relaxed back stage. I have never witnessed such a concert disaster, especially one that could have been avoided, this was deliberate in it's rudeness. I have never been a part of something so unprofessional, or disrespectful to an audience, and I'm sad to see one of my favorite vocalists operates this way. Shame on the promoters for allowing this to happen, and shame on Sukhwinder Singh.

Could not agree more with Matt McKenna. Absolutely disaster of a concert. Normally the concert lasts for 3 hrs. Here, the artist himself was more than 3 hrs late to the stage. On top of that, people were made sit out to some horrible feelers and lip-singing. Organizers just looted money of music lovers. Sukhwinder Singh had no shame on coming late. On top of that, he went into infinite break after singing 4 songs (2 of which were lipsynced) by saying he will be back in 5-10 min. Mr Singh might be a great singer but I would be surprised if he can manage a future show in Bay Area!

I agree, I will think ten times to listen to Sukhwinder even if it is a free concert.

One thing to be done is to dispute all your transactions through credit-card or Paypal. If more people dispute this will surely have an effect on the organizers.

This was my worst experience of a musical concert.
I think the orgarnizers should retire from this business as they dont have any sense for audience expectations. They should have had the courtesy of atleast informing the audience of the delays and what the anticipated schedule would be.
Firstly they postpone the concert 3weeks later and then such a flop show.
And Mr. Sukhvinder please respect your fans and their time. We dint pay for hearing 2 songs.

Can we find some ways of getting out money back? Worst show of my life where singer has no value of audience. Time has come to show audience power. We wasted 3.5 hrs and watched local kids getting prize and Sunny and Pawani. It was a mental torture and we need to fight for this. Make sure he cannot come in future...you know what 2 days before the show tickets were there for $20 and we bought for high price. Not worth it even for free shows in future.

Totally agreed ! We took some extra effort to be early to the show. We had 2 school-going kids who were so excited to watch Sukhi Singh in live -- but had to leave the show very disappointed . With the Organizer's total disregard to the audience demands, or even any sincere effort on their part to explain or apologize -- was really disheartening. It was our worst experience for a concert ! The kids were really stressed out with the waiting and all the booing and screaming, and then to leave without even watching Sukhi, turned out more like a nightmare for them. Shame on the Organizers !!

Thank you all for the over-whelming support. I can only add one more thing that the organizers were not at fault. Do not ask why I know all this. Sukhi was begged to come on to the stage. People running multiple times to his room but Sukhi apparently did not budge. Later, he refused to come back to the stage. I honestly felt sorry for the organizers. They tried to do their best but the tantrums of these bollywood artists are too much to handle.

I am sure Sukhi has lost support form all the organizers here in Bay Area. He should stick to Mumbai!

I'm sorry I do not agree to taking the blame off the organizers. It is they who sold the tickets and if they could not get their act together, for whatever reason, they should've come out, apologized and refunded people's money instead of lying, making excuses and not picking up phones. I'm sure people would have even let go of refunds if they had had the decency to show themselves and apologize rather than lying and wasting a whole Sunday evening for so many people. Gurjeev dost... Long time no see.. How do you know the organizers? I was really seriously disappointed... Very glad that I left during his first break...

I encourage everyone to file a complaint at
http://sanjose.bbb.org/ComplaintInformation.aspx

The organizers should apologize publicly for their behavior and wasting people's time. They should also refund the tickets.
I am seeing this kinda unprofessional attitude by many desi events/places all around the bay area.

Did anyone get any response from the organizers as to what really happened? I felt totally cheated and wasting a Sunday evening. To spend $50 to hear 4-5 songs was really rip off. I dont care what happened to the guy or the organizers. They owed an apology and tell the audience what was going on. I heard someone say he was late to arrive. But what really happened?

I opened a dispute claim, please do the same against Gary Bahl. Time has come to show some customer power.
